WHO IS STREETZ FM 104-7? Streetz is owned by Native Communications Incorporated (NCI). In 2008, NCI was granted one of the last FM licenses available in the city. We began to plan the launch of the station with programming ideas being sought from three separate focus groups
WHO ARE STREETZ 104-7 LISTENERS? Aboriginal youth are the fastest growing demographic in Winnipeg. The city’s Aboriginal population is currently estimated to be 90,000 and growing quickly. According to the 2006 Census, the median age for the Aboriginal community is 27 years old. This is the youngest and fastest growing segment of the city. Statistics Canada estimated that 60% of the Aboriginal community will be 25 and under by 2020.The programming on Streetz does however appeal to a mainstream audience.
STREETZ 104-7 seeks a target audience of youth aged between 18-34. Streetz FM features a vibrant mix of music which is inclusive of dance, R&B and hip-hop .
COVERAGE STREETZ 104-7 reaches the outskirts of the city limits with its 3,000 watts transmitter located in downtown Winnipeg.
